Hello. The diabetic changed his wife's dose of Trulicity from 1.5 mg to 3mg. We have 3 more injections with 1.5mg , but the wife insists on taking 3mg . Shouldn't she finish 1.5 mg first and then switch to 3mg?

For additional control of glycemia (sugar levels) and treatment effects, the dose of 1.5 mg can usually be increased after at least 4 weeks to 3 mg once a week. If the doctor decided to increase the dose, I suspect that he had reasons for it. As for the supply of the drug and the fear of its waste, I will suggest that two injections of 1.5 mg will give a total of 3 mg. Therefore, it is worth contacting your doctor and asking if the dose increase must take place this week or maybe after using one more dose of 1.5 mg. Then you will not be left with a supply of unused medicine. If not, then only 1 unused dose of 1.5 mg will remain, not 3 doses.
