No. According to the leaflet, children aged 6 to 12 years should take a dose of 10ml 3x a day and this is a safe dose. Please remember not to give the drug after 17-18 hours and additionally hydrate the child during the treatment, so that the residual secretion has a chance to thin out and cough up.
