In people with hypothyroidism and Hashimoto's disease, the same guidelines apply to the administration of iodine preparations in the event of a nuclear disaster as for the general population - adults and children over 12 years 100 mg of iodine, which corresponds to 2 tablets of potassium iodide 65 mg, preferably within 2 hours of exposure to radiation.
