Do I need to disinfect my hands before applying vaginal medicines?

I am pregnant and before putting on vaginal drugs I disinfect my hands with Oktaseptal liquid. Now I have read that this drug can not be used during pregnancy. Could I have harmed the embryo in any way if I used this medicine on my hands 3 times every day? What is safe to disinfect hands before putting on vaginal medications?

There are no results from clinical studies on the safety of Oktaseptal in pregnant and lactating women. However, given the composition of the product and the way it is used, it is unlikely to affect the health of the baby and the course of pregnancy. However, Oktaseptal is not intended for hand disinfection. It is a medicinal product whose use is recommended, m.in, in decontamination and supportive treatment of small, superficial wounds, disinfection of the skin before treatments, disinfection of the oral cavity or inflammation of the reproductive organs. Before applying vaginal drugs, it is enough to wash your hands thoroughly with soap and rinse with warm water. There is no need for antiseptics.
