The gynecologist said I was deficient in estrelogen. I protect myself, I have a period (quite abundant) from 3 weeks but regular. Why, then, did I get a referral for BETA HCG? My biggest phobia is pregnancy and I'm starting to get scared even though I know I don't have any symptoms of a pregnant person.

Beta hCG (for chorionic gonadotropin) testing is performed primarily to confirm or exclude pregnancy. Perhaps the doctor intends to use some treatment for you that requires a reliable exclusion of pregnancy. If you suspect that you may be pregnant, you would probably receive relevant information already at the visit. Ultimately, you can get an unambiguous answer for what purpose the test was ordered directly from the doctor who ordered this examination.
