How to rebuild the vaginal microflora?

I suffer from recurrent intimate vaginal infections, previously fungal ones are now mixed. The doctor said that I lacked a probiotic in my vagina and should put my finger with natural yogurt inside every day, permanently. I will not say, this idea seemed to me terribly archaic and I am afraid that it may harm me and I will not do so. Is it possible to permanently include Provag gel for the protection and care of intimate areas instead? It contains lactic acid bacteria, so I guess it should have a positive effect?

For @Domi: Yes, the probiotic Lactovaginal can be used as a prophylaxis of infection after each menstruation. There are no contraindications to this.

Can such lactovaginal probiotics be used prophylactically after each menstruation?

Provag gel does not contain lactic acid bacteria of the genus Lactobacillus, but their metabolites, mainly lactic acid and other organic acids, which help to maintain a low pH naturally and therefore protect the intimate area from adverse microbes. You can use the gel prophylactically, but in order to rebuild the vaginal microflora, you should reach for one of the preparations in the form of vaginal globules containing probiotic bacteria: - Lactovaginal: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/42178/lactovaginal-kapsulki-dopochwowe/apteki - Invag: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/38124/invag-kapsulki-dopochwowe/apteki.
