Hello, I have an important family event in a month, and I am about to start taking artane, the equivalent of parkopan. The question is whether this drug interacts with alcohol.

It is not recommended to consume alcohol during the treatment of Artane. Alcohol may increase drowsiness and dizziness and cause attention deficit, possibly due to the additive depressive effect on the central nervous system. Trihexifenidyl (the active substance in Artane) is used alone or with other medicines (e.g. levodopa) to treat Parkinson's disease. This drug improves muscle control and reduces their stiffness.
