Good morning. Is it worth doing a colonoscopy with recurrent vaginal mycosis? I heard that vaginal mycosis comes back because there is a high probability that it is in the digestive system. Apparently, a colonoscopy will detect this. I read that with ringworm of the digestive system there are constipation, diarrhea, abdominal pain, etc. Although I do not have it but just constantly recurring vaginal mycosis. And is it worth doing research in this direction? Just a colonoscopy?

Colonoscopy is not a standard examination for recurrent vaginal mycoses. The test is used to diagnose and/or treat intestinal diseases, it is also a basic screening test for colorectal cancer. The fungus Candida albicans is detected in almost half of healthy people - it is a natural component of the normal flora of the body. Only excessive hypertrophy, under favorable conditions (e.g. in patients with weakened immunity) can lead to candidiasis of the large intestine. In a colonoscopy, white raids on the surface of the mucous membrane may then be visible. Indeed, it is also manifested by ailments such as diarrhea, constipation or flatulence that are difficult to overlook.
