Hello. If I have budesonide easyhaler at home, can I use it or should I buy comboterol? I got a referral for him after an asthma attack (I looked like sor) I was not able to tell the doctor that after covid I still have the drug budesonide. Do these drugs work the same? I'll add that I had too much carbon dioxide in my body during the attack. Best regards

Budesonide easyhaler and Comboterol are two different drugs. Budesonide is an inhaled steroid with anti-allergic and anti-inflammatory effects. Comboterol is a two-component drug containing salmeterol - a drug from the group of ß2-mimetics. It is a long-acting preparation, stimulates receptors located m.in in the smooth muscles of the bronchi, this causes their expansion. The second component is fluticason - a corticosteroid that has anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic properties. An indication for the use of both preparations is, m.in, bronchial asthma. The Global Asthma Initiative (GINA), in order to better control the disease and reduce the frequency of exacerbations, recommends the use of drugs that combine inhaled glucocorticosteroids and beta-2-mimetics. A drug that meets these recommendations is Comboterol. In conclusion, the drugs should be used as directed by your doctor. Comboterol and Budesonide Easyhaler are different preparations. You should follow the recommendations of a specialist.
