Should you stop using an antibiotic if it doesn't work?

Hello, the daughter has already taken 5 doses of the antibiotic Klacid for otitis (she is allergic to betalactam and cephalosporins). Today it still had an elevated temp. around 38 degrees. Can it be considered that the antibiotic does not work? or wait? I will be grateful for your help.

For @Marta: Do not stop antibiotic treatment before stopping treatment, as this may m.in develop antibiotic resistance by pathogenic bacteria. What's more, in order for the treatment to be effective, you need to take the entire, specific dose of antibiotic. You should finish the treatment and then in case of persistent symptoms consult a doctor - you may need to do an antibiogram to determine which antibiotic will be effective in this infection.

With us the same situation, I just gave her 6 dose. Just yesterday at 1 p.m. I gave her nurofen because she was 38.5. And so far the temp is approaching 38... just yesterday a terribly wet cough began. Antibiotic also for otitis. I don't know if I should call the doctor...
