Will the application of the Canesten globule affect the result of cytology?
Good morning. On Thursday night I applied a capsule of canesten vaginally 500 mg and on Monday afternoon I have a visit to the gynecologist. Will this affect the result of the collected cytology?. Thank you

Doctors generally inform that you should refrain from using vaginal drugs and intercourse for 2-4 days before taking cytology. When ordering patients to take a drug in the treatment of intimate infections, they also inform when it is best to go for a test such as cytology after therapy. If you used the Canesten vaginal globule as part of self-medication, please inform the gynecologist about both the ailments and the use of the drug at the visit on Monday. The doctor should check if the infection has been cured. If not - he may recommend the continuation of treatment and postpone the date of cytology collection.
