Swollen ankles are more likely to be associated with disorders for which the use of these drugs has been recommended than to be a side effect of their use. Swelling of the ankles may be related m.in renal impairment, heart disorders (mainly left ventricle), venous insufficiency or hypothyroidism. This problem should be discussed with the attending physician, who will recommend appropriate tests or modify the treatment if necessary. Please pay attention to proper hydration of the body (minimum 2.5 l of fluids per day), supporting the proper functioning of the kidneys and circulatory system.
