Is it safe to give Zentel if the doctor has only seen a picture of the feces and has not ordered tests for parasites?

My 3 month old son received a recommendation from the pediatrician to take zentel, only after removing the feces and nformation that he was restless at night. Is it safe to administer such a drug without confirming by research that parasites are present?

Most likely, the doctor recommended taking Zentel to the child, because in the photo of feces he saw parasites, and their presence is often accompanied by anxiety of the child at night. The drug Zentel has a wide range of antiparasitic action, in connection with which such a doctor's decision - even without specifying a specific type of parasite - can be justified and helpful. Please remember, however, that in our forum we can only make some assumptions, but we do not review the decisions of doctors. If you are afraid whether it is safe to follow the doctor's recommendations, such doubts should be dispelled directly in a conversation with him, e.g. by phone: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/blog/jak-telefoniczne-otrzymac-recepte-i-zwolnienie-lekarskie You can ask the doctor to issue a referral for a parasitological examination of feces or do it on your own - for a fee before administering the drug.
