I have Hashimoto and IO. Can I take Saxenda in this case?

Hi I have been struggling with a lot of obesity for 7 years. Diet and physical activity did not work and the weight continues to grow. Within half a year I gained 30kg. I was diagnosed with Hasimoto and IO. Can I take saxenda in this case? My GP is afraid to prescribe it to me

Saxenda is a prescription drug, so it is the doctor who, after assessing your condition, decides whether you can use the drug. It is worth asking what the doctor means by saying that he is "afraid", what facts about your health make him not convinced of this form of treatment. In such cases, it is worth going to a doctor dealing with the typical treatment of obesity - these are often diabetologists or endocrinologists. In my opinion, such a specialist may necessarily have more experience in the treatment of this type of case. All the more so because Hashimoto's and insulin resistance can make it very difficult to treat obesity and fuel the whole vicious circle of weight gain and hormonal problems. Therefore, I hope that it is understandable that, unfortunately, I am not able to assess and unequivocally answer you whether you can use Saxenda. I leave a link to a video that may interest you:
