When taking Antalcol (already from the first dose of the drug) after alcohol consumption, a disulfiram-alcohol reaction resembles the symptoms of intoxication occurs. The reaction occurs after about 15 minutes after alcohol consumption, the maximum effect after 30 minutes to an hour, after which the symptoms gradually disappear over the next hours.
