Good morning, I have a question related to hashimoto's disease(hashimoto's thyroid). Namely, is the doctor obliged to perform an ultrasound of the thyroid gland at the first meeting?

I am not aware of any regulations imposing on the doctor the obligation to perform specific tests at the first visit. The doctor should act in accordance with the guidelines of current medical knowledge and his best skill and experience. Within this framework, it can freely shape both the diagnostics and the healing process itself. Of course, the patient has a number of laws that allow him to react if he thinks that his case is not being conducted properly. However, I cannot answer whether in your individual case you required an ultrasound examination of the thyroid gland immediately. Perhaps the information you need is already in your medical records or the doctor combines the ultrasound examination with the analysis of ordered tests of another type (e.g. from blood)?
