It all depends on the state of health of the patient and, accordingly, on the recommendations of the psychiatrist. I met with various recommendations tailored to the patient's clinical situation, e.g. - switching from day to day to another substance from the same therapeutic group in this case SSRIs, - switching from day to day, but with the smallest dose of the new active substance introduced into the therapy, in this case escitalopram, - gradually reducing the dose of fluoxetine for several days and starting escitalopram therapy with the lowest dose. In your case, the doctor should decide how to switch to a new drug, please do not make a decision on your own.
