However, this will not lead to a reduction in the effectiveness of the medicine, but may increase the risk of side effects such as nausea, abdominal pain or breast tenderness. These symptoms do not affect the effectiveness of the patches, because these hormones do not reside in the digestive tract, but are released directly into the blood.
