Will I get withdrawal bleeding on time if I applied the first Evra patch on any day of the cycle?

Hello. I've never used contraceptive patches. I was prescribed Evra patches. I know I should stick 1 of them on the 1st day of my period, but what if I used it now? Will there be bleeding after these 3 weeks from the start of use or will I not have a period at all this month?

When sticking the first patch on any day of the cycle, it is difficult to predict whether withdrawal bleeding will occur on time - that is, during a 7-day break from using the patch. When using the patches in this way, bleeding or mid-cycle spotting may occur during the current cycle. In addition, it is worth noting that sticking the first patch on any day of the cycle does not immediately provide contraceptive protection. An additional form of protection in the form of a condom should be used throughout this patch cycle. Full protection will be provided only when using the patches from the new packaging.
