Syrop Islandzki ma działanie powlekające i nawilżające drogi oddechowe, może być stosowany w leczeniu objawów przeziębienie (np. ból gardła, suchy kaszel, drapanie w gardle) u pacjentów z POChP.
W tej grupie pacjentów leki takie jak Levopront należy stosować ostrożnie, w razie konieczności i tylko po konsultacji z lekarzem. Należy uwzględnić również ryzyko interakcji z równolegle przyjmowanymi lekami na POChP.
