If I have diarrhea or vomiting, how much can I take tablets from the spare pack?

If I have diarrhea or vomiting, how much can I take tablets from the spare pack? Last month I had three diarrhoea and after each such situation I took an extra pill. Did I do the right thing? And should I do so in the future that after each situation of danger of absorption of the tablet I should take an additional one?

Can this deregulate the cycle and disrupt the contraceptive effect?

Anonim (Anonymous, 46.204.104.) 4 years ago

I took in the previous cycle in a row three days for two contraceptive pills then one day normally one pill and again probably three days for two contraceptive pills Atywia Daily. So a total of 6 additional tablets in the previous cycle. In this cycle, I took two days of two birth control pills. So two in the current cycle. My question is whether contraception is preserved? Should additional security be applied? Can the body get used to a higher dose of the hormone? Should I be afraid? I took the pills unnecessarily, mainly because of fears of an unplanned pregnancy. Now I have read and I already know that some situations do not require it.

For @Anonim: Protection will be preserved, the body will "not get used to" a larger dose. In order for the drug to work, it is necessary to provide a therapeutic dose - in this case, one tablet a day. Taking a higher dose also preserves the effectiveness of the treatment, but increases the risk of side effects. Protection will not be maintained if you start, for example, taking half a tablet.

Even if it will be in one cycle? I don't know if I understand correctly. If I do not take additional tablets in the next cycle, will the protection be maintained? The body will not get used to it?

No, taking the extra contraceptive pill 5 times does not affect the effectiveness but, as you rightly pointed out, it can at most increase the risk of side effects.

The question is purely theoretical, whether taking, for example, 5 contraceptive pills from an additional package affects the effectiveness? That is, several times taking a double dose of the hormone, partly caused, for example, by inattention or forgetfulness. Does this only affect the higher likelihood of side effects? Or does it somehow reduce the effectiveness? Although I do not think that it lowers the effect because there is more hormone and the lack of a tablet reduces the effectiveness.
