Can Xifaxan cause changes in menstrual bleeding?
Good morning. Since Tuesday I take xifaxan, currently I am abroad on vacation, i should scheduled to get a period in 2 days (25.07) and I got today with the fact that it is very little abundant (on the sanitary pad almost view it is not just how to put tampons it can be seen) please tell me if it can happen by xifaxan, or is it some bleeding , a side effect caused by the above-called drug? Because it worries me a lot and the doctor does not answer my questions. Best regards

Druki informacyjne leku Xifaxan nie zawierają informacji, aby wpływał on na cykl płciowy czy powodował zaburzenia miesiączkowania. Rifaksymina w formie polimorficznej alfa cechuje się bardzo niskim wchłanianiem - lek Xifaxan działa lokalnie w świetle jelita. Znikome stężenia, jakie substancja czynna osiąga we krwi przemawiają za tym, że takie działanie (zmieniające intensywność krwawienia miesiączkowego) jest mało prawdopodobne i nie zostało na ten moment stwierdzone.
