Kurację lekiem Hascovir należy przeprowadzić przez cały zalecony przez lekarza czas. Nie należy samodzielnie skracać ani wydłużać zaleconej terapii. Zbyt szybkie zakończenie kuracji np. przy opryszczce może spowodować nawrót choroby.
