Do alertec, Zyrtec and Telfast differ in the active substance? Are there any indications which medicine I should take or do I just need to try and which one will work?

Allertec and Zyrtec contain the same active substance, cetirizine, while Telfast contains fexofenadine. These are substances from the same group with a very similar effect. It is impossible to clearly determine which will be more effective, because these drugs are selected on the basis of the individual reaction of the patient. Studies indicate that fexofenadine is less likely to cause drowsiness than cetirizine. Witam serdecznie,
Allertec oraz Zyrtec zawierają tę samą substancję czynną - cetyryzynę. Telfast z kolei ma swoim składzie feksofenadynę. Wszystkie należą do leków przeciwhistaminowych stosowanych w leczeniu alergii. Leki oparte na cetyryzynie zalicza się do starszej generacji, Feksofenadyna natomiast jest lekiem nowszym.
Wskazania mają bardzo zbliżone, natomiast skuteczność ich jest sprawą wysoce indywidualną i tak naprawdę pacjent powinien sam stwierdzić, który lek jest dla niego najwygodniejszy.
Warto na pewno dodać, że cetyryzyna (Allertec, Zyrtec) dość często powoduje senność i rozkojarzenie, co o wiele rzadziej obserwujemy przy stosowaniu feksofenadyny (Telfast, Allegra, Fexofast i inne).
