Can bleeding after using Symbactin globules be a side effect of the drug?

The doctor prescribed Symbactin for vaginal bacteriosis. After applying one globulum per night, bleeding appeared the next day. Menstruation should come in 8 days. What could the bleeding have come from?

Symbactin itself rarely causes bleeding, but the globulin form can irritate the vaginal lining or cervix, sometimes resulting in a slight spotting. Another possibility is the so-called intracyclic bleeding, which can happen regardless of the drug, e.g. as a result of an infection, hormonal fluctuations or an impending menstrual period. If bleeding is intense, recurrent or accompanied by pain, contact a gynaecologist.
