Can I stop taking Orgametril myself if I have my period despite taking it?
12.99 zł

Hello, I got orgametril from a gynecologist aimed at stopping the shift of menstruation, however, the period has appeared and has been going on for 9 days and usually lasts 4 days for me, and I have a question if I can stop taking the medication myself? I have an appointment in 2 days
And will the gynecologist give me a drug to completely stop my period? I will add that on June 5 we are going on vacation and until June 12 we don't want to have a period, is it realistic to stop?

Before discontinuing the drug on your own, it is worth consulting a gynaecologist. Abrupt discontinuation of this preparation during ongoing bleeding may lead to an even stronger, hemorrhagic intensification of symptoms.

Do not stop taking the medicine abruptly without your doctor's assessment, as this may further increase bleeding or dysregulate your cycle. During the visit, the gynaecologist will assess whether the current treatment has been appropriately selected and whether it is possible to modify the therapy. In many cases, it is possible to postpone menstruation with the use of hormonal drugs, but the effectiveness depends on the moment of starting treatment and the individual reaction of the body. Observe the bleeding until the visit and see a doctor urgently if you experience very heavy bleeding, severe pain or weakness.

An outsider who does not have knowledge about your health will not be able to help and determine the appropriate treatment regimen. This is the responsibility of the doctor, in this case the attending physician.
