One indication for the use of Vessel Due is the prolonged secondary prophylaxis of venous thromboembolism in patients who have completed standard anticoagulant therapy (3 to 12 months) for deep vein thrombosis or pulmonary embolism. Vessel Due has strong anticoagulant properties both within arterial and venous vessels, but it exhibits a slightly different mechanism of action than Eliquis. Theoretically, Vessel Due is a drug with a lower risk of side effects such as haemorrhages and petechiae than Eliquis.
