Please note that a change in dosage (e.g. switching from 60 mg to 30 mg) should always be done after consultation with your doctor, as self-reduction of the dose of an antidiabetic drug can lead to a dangerous increase in blood glucose levels.
In general, Gliclada 60 mg tablets can be divided into equal doses because they have a special dividing line. This drug is formulated as a modified-release tablet that has been designed in such a way that when broken in half, each part contains exactly 30 mg of the active substance.
Half of the tablet should be swallowed whole – it must not be additionally crushed or chewed, so as not to destroy the mechanism of gradual release of the drug into the body.
