The doctor recommended sinupret extract 3 times a day for a 13-year-old. At home I read that it is a drug for adults. Can I give me this medicine?

A doctor has the right to prescribe a drug outside the official registration indications (so-called off-label use) if he or she considers it clinically justified. We wrote more about it here:

The reason for the age restriction for Sinupret Extract is not the harmfulness of the ingredients, but the lack of clinical studies conducted in children under 18 years of age for such a high dose of plant extracts. For a 13-year-old, the standard recommended and tested form is Sinupret (hollowed tablets) or Sinupret (oral drops), which are registered for children 6 years of age.
Since the doctor recommended the Sinupret Extract version, he probably assessed the severity of the symptoms in my son as requiring a stronger dose, but as a pharmacist, I suggest contacting the doctor again to confirm whether there was a mistake when writing the name of the preparation.
If you have doubts about this situation, it is always worth consulting a doctor who can give you more personalized advice. If you are not able to take advantage of the advice, I attach a link to the online teleconsultation:
