If the drug with lamotrigine is not available in pharmacies and therefore it is not possible to continue therapy, you should immediately consult your doctor who will select an alternative treatment. Lamotrigine and carbamazepine are prescription-only medicines, do not change the medicine or its dosage yourself without first consultation. The decision on the further fate of the therapy should be made by the doctor - he may recommend carbamazepine or another, perhaps better-tolerated, antiepileptic drug instead.
