I've already asked the gynecologist, but I'll ask again because there are probably drugs with a similar name and I want to make sure.

It can be done if the doctor decides that the benefits for the mother outweigh the potential risks for the fetus.

The manufacturer of the drug provides the following information:

"Due to the lack of sufficient data, Floxal, eye drops should only be used during pregnancy if the potential benefit to the mother outweighs the potential risk to the foetus."

"No adequate controlled studies have been conducted on the use of the drug in pregnant women. In animal studies, arthropathy has been reported in juveniles following systemic administration of quinolones, therefore the use of ofloxacin in pregnant women is not recommended."

However, taking into account the fact that after topical administration, ofloxacin is absorbed into the systemic circulation to a small extent – the risk of possible effects on the fetus seems negligible.

Therefore, follow the advice of your doctor.
