Such a dosage of the drug is most likely due to the fact that you do not experience any symptoms of infection.
Asymptomatic candidiasis is usually not treated, the doctor most likely recommended such a "prophylactic" procedure.
If you really had symptoms of infection, it would be advisable to increase the dose of the fungal drug and extend the time of therapy – however, in your case, due to the lack of symptoms, there is no need to do so.
The guidelines of the Infectious Diseases Society of America state that treatment of asymptomatic candidiasis may be necessary, for m.in, in the case of, for example, a planned urological procedure or severe immunodeficiency or neuropathy. In other cases, there is no need for this, unless the doctor on the basis of the patient's medical history, etc. considers the treatment to be justified.
Most likely, in your case, it is a purely preventive action.
