I have been taking Munjaro for 5 months, I started with 5 mg, then 7.5 mg, the last 4 pens were 10 mg, at the beginning it was 158 kg, now it is 119 kg, there are 2 more injections left, the doctor advises to reduce the dose, i.e. take 7.5 mg and then 5 mg in order to smoothly exit the treatment. Is this your opinion on this situation correct?

Below is the treatment regimen described in the summary of product characteristics:
"The initial dose of tirzepatide is 2.5 mg once a week.
After 4 weeks, the dose should be increased to 5 mg once a week.
After at least 4 weeks of treatment, the dose may be increased in increments of 2.5 mg with the current dose, if necessary.
The recommended maintenance doses are 5 mg, 10 mg, and 15 mg. The maximum dose is 15 mg once a week. "
Clinical trials were developed based on a treatment lasting 40-72 weeks. The doctor may suggest a different treatment strategy if there are grounds for shortening the duration of the treatment. However, given the fact that the maximum maintenance dose has not been reached and the weight is still quite high, I encourage you to consult the problem with a doctor (preferably a specialist in obesity treatment).
