The use of estrogen-progesterone therapy (e.g. Femoston) may increase the risk of breast cancer, this risk depends on the duration of treatment. According to the manufacturer's information, if the drug is used for more than 5 years, the risk of being diagnosed with breast cancer increases up to 2 times. Therefore, a contraindication to the use of the drug is a history of breast cancer or a reasonable suspicion of it.

According to additional information from the manufacturer, the increased risk in patients using oestrogens alone is less than in patients taking oestrogen-progestin combination therapy
