12.99 zł

Hello, can antibiotic azitrol in suspension be used in babies at 6 months of age? The doctor prescribed a dose adjusted to the weight and told me to take it for 3 days, but in the leaflet it seems to say that it is not recommended to be after 1 year of age, please answer

According to the manufacturer:
"There are limited data on the use of this medicinal product in children under 1 year of age." However, this does not mean that it is not used in children under 1 year of age.

The use of azithromycin in infants is acceptable, but only with a clear medical indication and after individual dosage. In clinical practice, the drug is also used in younger infants, e.g. in the case of chlamydial pneumonia in newborns and infants, as one of the classic indications.

In this case, the dose is determined on the basis of body weight (usually 10 mg/kg body weight once a day), and the length of therapy depends on the indication (usually 3 days).

Therefore, please follow the recommendations of your pediatrician.
