Hello, I am 24 weeks pregnant and since Saturday I have been taking vaginal globules due to vaginal mycosis. Can I have intercourse with my husband using a condom during this type of infection or is abstinence recommended?

As a rule, it is recommended to refrain from intercourse during the treatment of the infection.
Even the use of a condom, which reduces the risk of transmission to the partner, is not recommended at this time. Microinjuries may occur during intercourse, which may prolong the treatment process or reduce its effectiveness. In addition, some vaginal preparations weaken the structure of the latex, thus reducing the protective role of the condom.
It is also worth remembering that intercourse during an infection can exacerbate ailments such as itching or burning.
With this in mind, you should refrain from sexual contact until treatment is complete and the symptoms have completely disappeared.
