Can the second dose of zentel for human worm eggs be taken after about 18 days or should it be taken exactly after 2 weeks?
I got human worm eggs, an adult 28 years old, the doctor prescribed two doses of zentel. I'm afraid that I may be pregnant, can I wait for my period or take a pregnancy test and only take the next dose of zentel, i.e. after about 3 weeks from the first dose?

Zentel (albendazole) is usually taken in two doses 14 days apart to effectively destroy the larvae and eggs of the parasite as well. A slight delay (e.g. a few days) is unlikely to significantly affect the effectiveness of the treatment, but a longer delay – e.g. 3 weeks – may reduce the effectiveness of the treatment. If there is a suspicion of pregnancy, it is advisable to do a pregnancy test before the next dose, as Zentel is contraindicated in pregnancy.
