Mounjaro (tirzepatide) is not recommended during pregnancy because there is not enough data on the safety of the foetus and the potential risks. Women planning pregnancy should stop/stop treatment with this drug at least 2 months before they plan to become pregnant, to allow adequate time for the elimination of the substance from the body. Effective contraception is recommended while taking Mounjaro, and the decision to discontinue treatment and plan pregnancy should always be consulted with the attending physician.
