I'm 43 years old and I've been period-free for 4 years – is it safe to use Cliovelle?
I am 43 years old,I did not have my period for almost 4 years,is it ok for me to take cliovelle? My doctor prescribed it to me,but I am not certain about the breast cancer risk.All my analysis are good,I don't have any relatives with breast cancer...but still,I am a little unsure.

If the doctor has assessed that there are no contraindications and the test results are fine, the benefits of treatment may outweigh the risks. The lack of a family history of breast cancer and good results are factors in favor of therapy, but I understand your concerns – regular breast check-ups (ultrasound or mammography) are especially important then.
Cliovelle is a hormone replacement therapy (HRT) medicine that contains oestrogen and progestin, used, m.in, in women who are menopausal or have menstrual disorders. The use of HRT, including Cliovelle, is associated with some increase in breast cancer risk, especially with long-term use beyond 3 years. However, the presence of progestogen in the drug protects against the risk of endometrial cancer.
