Should I stop taking Progesterone if spotting occurs?
12.99 zł

On 18.02 I started taking progesterone besins (for irregular menstruation) and it was recommended that I had 1x for 15 days, wait for my period and start Vibin Mini. And today I noticed a slight bleeding. I don't have an appointment with the gynaecologist until March 15th:( do you think I should start taking vibin pills today or finish progesterone to the end?

I suggest using the drug according to medical indications, even if spotting has occurred. This can occur if the patient starts taking progesterone too early in the cycle. Do not change the procedure without consulting a gynecologist.

For more information:

"Recommended dosage depending on the indication:

• Luteal phase disorders (irregular menstruation): Treatment should be given for 10 days in the cycle, usually from day 17 to day 26 inclusive. The average dose is 200 to 300 mg of progesterone per day, taken in 1 or 2 divided doses, i.e. 200 mg in the evening at bedtime and 100 mg in the morning if necessary.

• Treatment of menopause: In menopausal women with a preserved uterus, the use of estrogen as monotherapy not in combination with other management is not recommended. Treatment should be supplemented with progesterone used at a single dose of 200 mg at bedtime for at least 12 to 14 days per month, i.e. during the last 2 weeks of each treatment sequence, followed by a 1-week break in hormone replacement therapy, during which period withdrawal bleeding may occur.

If the treatment sequence is started too early in a given month, especially before day 15 of the cycle, the duration of the cycle may be shortened or bleeding may occur."

In case of any doubts, I encourage you to use the teleconsultation with a gynaecologist - the service is available on our website in the e-visit tab:
