Should you continue taking Azitrolek 500 mg if you have a severe sore throat, abdominal pain and diarrhea after the first dose?

I've had a sore throat for two weeks now
The doctor prescribed azitrolek 500 at an online appointment. The tablet is taken at 6 p.m., and at 7 p.m. there is an increased sore throat, at 9 p.m. abdominal pain and diarrhea. Should I take the next day a tablet?

Azitrolek (azithromycin) can cause side effects such as abdominal pain and diarrhea, which are often mild and temporary. The severity of a sore throat after taking the medication is not a typical side effect and may suggest another cause of the ailment.

In this situation, I encourage you to consult your doctor again to assess whether the benefits of continuing therapy outweigh the risk of side effects. In the meantime, you should take care of hydration and an easily digestible diet.
