Solvetusan is contraindicated for use in breastfeeding women, because the active substance contained in the drug may be excreted in milk.
In the case of Octeangin - no studies have been conducted to assess the risk of using the drug in lactating women, therefore its possible harm cannot be excluded. For this reason, the product is contraindicated during lactation.
Breastfeeding women can use throat preparations with a moisturizing effect, e.g. Isla, Prenalen, and painkillers such as Uniben/Tantum verde.
In the case of a very severe dry cough, dextromethorphan (e.g. Tussidrill syrup) can be used on an ad hoc basis. It is a drug that is described as possibly safe, with little risk to the child (e-lactancia classification). You can also take products with a natural, herbal composition, such as Prenalen syrup or marshmallow syrup.
