Tamivil can be taken by pregnant women. Below you will find information on this subject in the summary of product characteristics.

Recommendations for the treatment of influenza in pregnant women:

"There have been no controlled clinical trials of oseltamivir (Tamivil) in pregnant women, but there are data from postmarketing and observational studies that indicate a benefit of lower morbidity/mortality with oseltamivir in this population. No dose adjustment is recommended for the treatment or prophylaxis of influenza in pregnant women.

Clinical studies, in combination with animal test results, do not indicate direct or indirect harmful effects on pregnancy, embryonal/foetal or postnatal development. Pregnant women may take Tamamivil after considering available safety data, the pathogenicity of the circulating strain of influenza virus, and the underlying disease in the pregnant woman."
