Will Chlorprotixen be safe for my 16-year-old son with autism and epilepsy who has reacted badly to Haloperidol?

Will chlorprotixen not harm a child who reacted badly to haloperidol (after a few days there was a body twist, gastric lavage had to be done). My son is 16 years old, autism, epilepsy, he takes topamax, lamotrix and asentre, chlorprotixen is to be given on an ad hoc basis, in case of behavioral problems.

Chlorprotixen, as a neuroleptic, may cause side effects, including extrapyramidal symptoms (a set of motor symptoms in the form of involuntary, repetitive movements of the lips, jaw, tongue), which is important in the context of your son's previous reaction to Haloperidol.

In addition, chlorprotixen may lower the seizure threshold, which is an additional risk in patients with epilepsy. Because of these factors, I encourage you to consult with your treating doctor again before introducing Chlorprotixen to evaluate the potential benefits and risks in the context of your child's current treatment and medical history.
