Proctosedon is a medication in the form of an ointment for use for hemorrhoids. It contains hydrocortisone, cinchocaine, neomycin and aesculin - substances with anti-inflammatory, local anesthetic, antipruritic, antibacterial, anti-swelling and vascular strengthening properties. The ointment is not an antibiotic, but it contains one in its composition - we are talking about neomycnyn. Neomycin is an aminoglycoside antibiotic. Neomycin has a bactericidal effect on Gram-negative bacteria, especially bacilli (except Haemophilus), Mycobacterium tuberculosis and S. aureus.
