Scientific studies indicate that antidepressants such as amitriptyline (the active ingredient in Laroxyl) can cause menstrual cycle disorders, including amenorrhea, by increasing prolactin levels and thus possibly inhibiting ovulation.
However, this is only a hypothesis and it is worth consulting a gynecologist, who will order appropriate preventive examinations to rule out other causes of amenorrhea.
