How do I use EVRA if my doctor has prescribed it for painful periods?

Hello, since Friday of last week my gynecologist has prescribed me the Evra patch, because I have a painful period, so I put a new one today, but I don't want to stop having my period anymore can I continue by changing every week without being forced to remove the Pdt patch 1 week please? I have a rch, and period pain worn out for its which you prescribed me thank you

Properly Evra patches should be used for 3 weeks - changing the patch every week, on the same day of the week, called the "patch change day". After 3 weeks, i.e. after the third patch, you should take a 7-day break. Then start a new pack of patches. The whole cycle lasts 4 weeks - 3 weeks with the patch, 1 week - without.

With properly worn patches, bleeding should regulate after 2-3 cycles.
