Is it possible that by breastfeeding my son is giving me the antibiotic Augmentin?

My 9-month-old son is taking augmentin (which I am allergic to) to treat otitis media. Is it possible that breastfeeding him somehow passes it on to me? Because I have the same symptoms as when I take the antibiotic, i.e. an inflamed palate, a red tongue and vaginal candida. In addition, my son has a rash in the perianal and genital area which according to the dermatologist is contact dermatitis/candida.

No, it is not possible to pass an antibiotic to the mother by breastfeeding. On the other hand, the risk of transmitting the pathogen to oneself in this situation is high.

Symptoms such as inflammation of the palate, redness of the tongue and vaginal candydosis can be indicative of various medical conditions. It's hard to judge from such a short description. I encourage you to make an appointment with your doctor, who will adjust the treatment according to your current clinical condition.

A rash in the diaper area in an infant can be caused by a variety of factors. Here are some possible causes of rashes in these areas:

1) Diaper rash: This is one of the most common causes of rashes in babies. It occurs when the skin in the diaper area is exposed to moisture, urine, feces, and friction with the diaper. The skin becomes reddened and pimples may appear.

2) Ringworm (candidiasis): A fungal infection caused by Candida albicans can manifest as redness, white spots on the mucous membranes and pustules. Ringworm can thrive in warm and humid places.

3) Allergy: An infant may be allergic to ingredients in diapers, creams, or soaps, which can lead to a rash.

4) Reactions to food: In some cases, changes in an infant's diet can affect the condition of the skin.

5) Bacterial infections: Bacteria can cause an infection of the skin in the anal area.

In any case, it is important to consult a doctor who can accurately assess the rash, make a diagnosis, and recommend appropriate treatment or measures to alleviate symptoms. Rashes in the genital or anal area of an infant require special attention to rule out possible infections or skin problems.

If you are concerned about this situation, it is always a good idea to consult a doctor who can give you more personalized advice. If you do not have the opportunity to take advantage of the advice, I am attaching a link to the online teleconsultation:
