The maximum daily dose of Anticol is 500mg. Taking 10 tablets of Anticol may cause symptoms of overdose:
- nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhoea, drowsiness, delirium, hallucinations and lethargy,
- tachycardia, tachycardia, hyperthermia and hypotension,
- leukocytosis, ketosis (often disproportionate to the degree of dehydration) and methemoglobinemia,
- in severe cases, circulatory collapse, coma and convulsions may occur,
- rarely, sensorimotor neuropathy, EEG abnormalities may occur,
encephalopathy, psychosis and catatonia, which may appear a few days after an overdose.
Speech disorders, muscle clonic seizures, ataxia, dystonia may also occur
and stillness. Movement disorders may be associated with direct toxic effects on the subcortical nuclei.
