The possibility of using Concerta in the case of existing diseases is decided by the doctor. According to the information contained in the Summary of Product Characteristics, Hashimoto's disease and epilepsy are not contraindications to the use of Concerta, but these are conditions for which special caution should be exercised.
Methylphenidate (the active ingredient in Concerta) is a mild central nervous system stimulant used to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in children and adolescents aged 6 to 18 years. It is not used to improve memory.
